Time is a beautiful thing. It matures fruit, and ages beef. It holds our memories and releases our fears. Believing that time heals our hearts wounds helps us to forge on through very difficult times. It is intangible and yet all encompassing. It is unstoppable, and yet delicately woven into all our lives. We long for more, and we morn its loss as if it were a loved one. It is a constant companion and an invincible master.
Why then do we not savor it? Each moment should be lived and enjoyed, yet most of our days we try to shove as much into each second and then stress out when we can't achieve what we though was possible.
There is nothing wrong with a fast paced life style, as long as it is mixed with a healthy dose of reflection. The rest needed to keep up those hard pushes refreshes our hearts, and souls then fortifies us for the next push.
Those who ignore that end up pushing to hard and crashing. Time then slowly starts to heal that individual as if it were a doting mother, tisking about needing to listen to her advice. The old saying, "Stop and smell the roses" is all about enjoying the moment and savoring its passing. Don't forget to pause today and look around you, taking in all for which you have to be grateful. You might be surprised at how something so little improves your whole life.
